Why I should Win
This 1949 Chevy Fleetline my wife and I purchase off of her Grandfather. He is now 84 years old .This was one of the last cars that he restored. We just moved him to an asisted living facility. He is diagnosed with Alztheimers. I would love to turn this car into an heir loom in remeberance of him. The car looks pretty solid but it has its issues. The rear fenders are long hair fiberglassed in as well as the fender wells and the outer rocker pannels, When we purchased the car it had the orginal 216 6 cyl. And the 3 spd on the column. My intention was to leave the car orginial as possible. I took the car to the first car show in May of 2007. Upon returning home I noticed a puddle of antifreeze under the car. The block cracked. Very dissappointed I was in quite a quandry.I my self have had 4 back surgeries and have 4 vertebrae fused in my lower back, i love to do it my self but sometimes physical limitations prohibit me. I am not here to tell a sob story about having back surgery or what ever . I just want a bad car.I have done some minor work to the car but i would love to put a proffesional paint job on it. I would love to turn the car into a work of art for My wifes grandpa to see while he is still here his health on a constant decline I am afraid that i will not be able to get it done int time as money is very short. Please help me. I really would love to have some extra cash. I have a 16 month old son and i would love for the car to be around for him to drive later on and pass it down another generation.
