How to stop receiving emails about Alerts
a. Sign in to the network and click on the "My Settings" link in the upper right corner of the page:
You will no longer receive email notifications when an Application sends you an Alert.
Let people know what you think of a photo by rating it! On the photo detail page, just below the photo and to the right, look for the word "Rate" and five stars:
To give the photo a rating, simply click on the number of stars you think it should receive. Your rating will then be reflected in the average to the left. Don't worry! Your rating remains anonymous, so you can be honest. If you change your mind, you can always return to the photo detail page and click the stars to change your rating for the photo.
Let people know what you think of a video by rating it! On the video detail page, just below the video and to the right, look for the word "Rate" and five stars:

You can add extra pages of content to your network using the
Pages feature. Your new pages can contain any content you'd like,
from widgets to photos to hyperlinks. You can also allow your
members to comment on your new pages if you'd like their opinion on
something.

Add Pages to your
network
As the Network Creator, you can add easily add new pages to your
network with any content you'd like.
To add a Page to your network, head to the Manage tab and click on
the "Tab Manager" link. Click the link to "Add New Tab."
In the "Tab Information" section in the right column, name your
new tab. This name will appear in the tab itself and also as your
new page's title.
Under "Target Page," select the "Create New Page" option. This is
where people will be taken when they click on your new tab. Save
your settings, then locate your new tab in the navigation. Click on
the tab to visit your new page.
Edit your Pages
To edit your new Page, click on the tab to visit it. Click the
"Edit" link below your page's title:
You can edit that Page's title, add text, widgets, images,
links, and files, and tag your Page here.
By default, your members will not be able to add comments to your
new Page. However, you can turn on the ability to add comments by
checking the box next to "Allow Comments." If you select this
option, your members will be able to leave comments on your page
much like they can on blog posts on your network.

When you join a network on Ning, you create your own profile page on that network. One of the easiest ways to get started on a new network is to make your profile page your own - add a profile photo, change the appearance of your page, and add some content. Let people know what you're about! Check out the guides below for a few things you can do to customize your profile page:
Change your page's theme
Your profile page on a network automatically takes the network's
theme and appearance settings. By default, you can change the theme
and appearance of their profile page.
Your network comes with a number of appearance themes available to
you, ranging from simple color schemes to advanced themes. You can
apply any of these standard default themes to your profile
page.
To change your profile page's theme, go to your profile page and
click the "Change Theme" link underneath your profile photo. This
is a setting that Network Creators can turn off, so if you don't
see the "Change Theme" link under your profile photo on your page,
it's likely the Network Creator has turned off this ability.
In the top portion of the page, you can browse through the themes
currently available and test them out on your profile page.
You can further customize your page's appearance by changing the
font and colors of the theme you've chosen. Select the theme you'd
like to customize and scroll to the "Theme Settings" section of the
page.
Here you can change the font style, color, and size, change the colors of your theme, and upload your own header background. The header background image you upload here will appear in the top section of your page, above the tabs, and will stretch to fit the area. It will replace the network's header background, but not the network name (or logo, if one has been uploaded).
Add your own CSS
To further customize your page's appearance, you can add your
own CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets. With CSS, you can make changes
to your page's appearance that aren't available in the built-in
theme settings page.

downloading Firebug to
experiment.
Upload a profile photo
When joining a network on Ning, you have the option to upload a
profile photo as you join the network. Uploading a profile photo is
a great way to let other members know a little bit about you. It's
always nice to put a face to a name, but it doesn't have to be a
photo of you - it can be an image that represents you, like a photo
of your favorite vacation spot or your pet. Any image you upload
will represent you on the network, so be creative!
To change your profile photo, click on the "Settings" link in the
right column of the page. Next to the "Profile Photo" field, click
the "Upload a photo" button. Click the "Browse" button to find your
image on your computer.
Change the layout of your profile page
You can rearrange the layout of your profile page and place the
features however you'd like. Using this option, you can highlight
your favorite feature on your profile page - maybe you've uploaded
a few awesome new photos or wrote a blog post you want people to
see when they first land on your page. Just move that feature to
the top of the middle column and visitors will see it right
away!
To move content around on your profile page, head to your profile
and locate the feature you'd like to move. Put your mouse in the
title bar of that box. If it can be moved, a small crosshair icon
will appear to the left of it.
Click and drag the box to its new location.
Drop the box where you'd like it to be, and keep going until you have the perfect layout!
Some elements on your profile page - like your profile photo, basic information, and the My Friends box - can't be moved, but other than that have fun!
Use your text box
One of the easiest things you can do to make your profile page your own is add content to your text box. Text boxes are one of the most flexible features on your network, and you can add anything you'd like to the text box on your profile page - including text, images, widgets, and links. Rules DRIVE PURPLE GIVEAWAY OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
1. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The DRIVE PURPLE GIVEAWAY (this “Contest”) begins at 12:00:01 AM Central Time on March 01, 2010 and ends at 11:59:59 PM Central Time on August 31, 2010 (“Contest Period”).
2. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, and all other U.S. and foreign territories and possessions) and to the legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec and all French speaking areas “the Eligibility Area”) who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and have the ability to enter into valid contracts in their personal jurisdiction of residence. Only individuals may enter; no entry form from any corporation or other entity shall be accepted. The Contest is VOID outside of the Eligibility Area and where otherwise taxed, prohibited or restricted. Employees and directors of Royal Purple Incorporated (“Royal Purple”), and their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, fulfillment, marketing agencies, public relation firms, consultants and contractors, their immediate families (defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent or grandparent) and those living in their same households are ineligible to participate in the Contest. By participating, you agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of Royal Purple, which are final and binding in all respects.
3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, visit the website www.DrivePurple.com and upload one (1) original photograph or one (1) original video recording of your vehicle. The submission must be your original work, must not have been copied in whole or in part from any other work, and must not have been entered in any other competition. No changes to any entry materials or information are permitted once the entry has been submitted. All entries become the property of Royal Purple and will not be acknowledged or returned. Individuals may submit multiple entries. Entries that do not conform to these guidelines or are received by Royal Purple after the end of the Contest Period will be discarded and deemed VOID. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an online entry, the individual who was, at the time of entry (in Royal Purple’s sole discretion), the registered holder of the email account used to enter the Contest will be deemed the eligible entrant. Proof of uploading a photo or video will not be deemed to constitute proof of delivery or receipt of entry. Royal Purple is not responsible for technical failures in entry transmission.
4. ORIGINAL WORK: Each entrant represents and warrants that her/his submission is an original work and that the entrant is the sole author with the full power to submit the same and to grant the licenses herein to Royal Purple. Entrants may not submit information, pictures, images, music, sounds, video footage or other materials that violate the property rights of others, including unauthorized intellectual property, trade secrets or other confidential proprietary information of a third party. Each entrant hereby waives any opportunity or right to inspect or approve his/her submission and/or the final product in which it may be used or incorporated. Each entrant hereby releases Royal Purple from all claims now or hereafter existing which may arise from any use, non-use or editing of the entrant’s submission. By submitting an entry, the entrant grants to Royal Purple a perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, publish, modify and create derivative works from the entrant’s submission in any media now known or hereafter developed.
5. PRIZES: The total retail value of all of the prizes in this Contest combined are: $3,000 US. A total of six (6) Monthly drawings will take place. Each Monthly drawing will consist of several gift certificates with one gift certificate awarded to each individual selected. The number of certificates each month depends upon the value of that months prize with the total per month Prizes valued at $500 US. Each gift certificate is redeemable in specific Royal Purple products supplied by Royal Purple (total approximate retail value per month: $500 US).The value of the prizes set forth above represent Royal Purple’s good-faith determination of the retail values thereof. The prizes may not be combined with any other offer. Winners will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes, fees, insurance and/or any other expenses associated with acceptance and/or taking delivery of the prizes. By accepting the prizes, the winners waive the right to assert, as a cost of winning said prize, any and all costs of redemption of said prizes or any and all liability that might arise from redeeming or seeking said prize.
6. GIVEAWAY CRITERIA: Each months winner(s) will be selected at random from that months entries. Each photo or video constitutes 1 entry. Enter as often as you like. All decisions are final.
7. PRIZE AWARDING: THE PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED. The winner(s) will be selected from all eligible entries received by Royal Purple. The prizes will be awarded only upon winner validation and verification by Royal Purple. The winners’ names will be posted on the the www.DrivePurple.com website on or about seven (7) days following each monthly selection. No substitution, transfer or assignment of the prizes is permitted. No substitution of the prizes will be permitted, except that Royal Purple reserves the right, in its sole discretion to substitute the prizes with either the cash value of the prize that would have been awarded, or a prize of equal or greater value. Royal Purple will use commercially reasonable efforts to contact each winner by email within three (3) days after the actual date of Royal Purple’s selection of the winners. If the initially selected winner does not respond by email within three days, cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be randomly selected from among the remaining eligible entries. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Royal Purple and their affiliates to use the winner’s name, likeness and biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Where permitted by law, each winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within ten (10) days of notification (or return the signed forms within ten (10) days of receipt), or such winner may be disqualified and the prize awarded to an alternate winner randomly selected from among the remaining eligible entries.
8. DISQUALIFICATION: The use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed or like methods is strictly prohibited. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest, as solely determined by Royal Purple, will be disqualified. If disqualified for any of the above abuses, Royal Purple reserves the right to terminate the person’s eligibility to participate in this and future Contests and sweepstakes offered by Royal Purple. Any attempt to damage any website of Royal Purple, or tamper with or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest, is a violation of these Official Rules as well as criminal and civil laws. Royal Purple reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any responsible individuals to the fullest extent permitted by law. In the event any portion of this Contest is compromised by any virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Royal Purple which, in the sole opinion of Royal Purple, corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest, Royal Purple reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate the Contest. In no event will more prizes be awarded than the ones listed above.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering, entrants (a) agree to these Official Rules, and to the decisions of Royal Purple, which shall be binding and final in all respects; and (b) acknowledge that Royal Purple has not made nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the prizes. By participating, each winner releases Royal Purple, their respective officers, directors, employees, affiliates, subsidiaries, marketing partners, advertising, promotion, fulfillment, marketing agencies, public relation firms, consultants or contractors from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons (including death) and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, possession, acceptance, enjoyment, use or misuse of the prize(s), or arising out of participation in this Contest, or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to and from taking delivery of the prizes or any prize-related activities. Royal Purple expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery and/or subsequent use of the monthly prize awarded. IN NO EVENT WILL ROYAL PURPLE OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, ADVERTISING, PROMOTION, FULFILLMENT, MARKETING AGENCIES, PUBLIC RELATION FIRMS, CONSULTANTS OR CONTRACTORS BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF ANY ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZES AWARDED IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, AS WELL AS ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS OR INVASION OF PRIVACY. GENERAL INFORMATION: Any and all disputes in connection with this Contest will be resolved exclusively in the appropriate courts in Porter, Texas. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the State of Texas and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the State of Texas. Each entrant waives any and all objections to jurisdiction and venue and hereby submits to the jurisdiction of those courts. Any and all lawsuits or other disputes that arise relating to this Contest must be filed within one (1) year from the date that the prize in question was awarded.
